Floral Heart Wood Art is one of my first pyrography projects that I created using a wooden plaque, and a wood burner. Pyrography is the art of burning designs into wood or other materials using a heated metal tip. I love this technique because it allows me to create intricate and realistic patterns with different shades and textures.

For this project, I chose a heart-shaped design with flowers, leaves, and swirls that create a beautiful contrast with the dark wood finish. The plaque is rectangular and measures approximately 6 x 4.5 x 0.125 inches. The wood was sanded, treated with a wood conditioner, and stained with gunstock water-based stain + polyurethane. The artist’s initials “LRC” and the year “23” are burned into the bottom right corner of the plaque.

I enjoyed working on this project because it challenged me to use different techniques and tools to create a harmonious and elegant design. I think this wood art is perfect for adding a touch of romance and elegance to any room or as a gift for someone special. I hope you like it as much as I do. 😊
